Lycopene - An herb, found in tomatoes; is known for its ability to lower cholesterol, keep arteries clean and other heart health benefits. A Harvard study of more than 28,000 women showed those with the highest blood Lycopene levels were half as likely to develop heart disease. Research has shown that lycopene may help prevent cardiovascular disease, diabetes, cancer and osteoporosis. Lycopene has even been found to have an inhibitory effect on cataract development and some rare cancer cells. As a powerful antioxidant, lycopene helps neutralize harmful free radicals, which benefits those with cancer, heart disease, macular degeneration and other age-related illnesses. Research results indicate that lycopene may help prevent cardiovascular disease, diabetes and osteoporosis, as well as, prostate, lung, stomach, pancreas, breast and colon cancers. Researchers have currently not found any side effects from taking lycopene as a dietary supplement. EDTA (Ethelene-Diamine-Tetra-Acetic Acid) - There are literally thousands of studies available supporting the ability of EDTA to restore cardiovascular function. EDTA Chelation (chemically binding and removing various toxic metals and minerals) has been proven to improve blood flow safely and to relieve symptoms of atherosclerosis by supporting the removal of undesirable calcium and other minerals that promote plaque formation, blood clotting, and atherosclerosis, which can end up blocking arteries. EDTA has often been referred to as the "Roto-Rooter" of the cardiovascular system.EDTA improves heart, brain, kidney, lung, and all organ functions by reducing atherosclerotic plaque in the vascular system. If your coronary arteries are filled with plaque, it's a sure bet that the arteries of your brain, lungs, and kidney are in a similar state. EDTA is effective for any condition where there is reduction or interruption of blood flow because of plaque. Plaque is not localized in just one area. Therefore, EDTA can "clean house," improving function in all organs of the body, thus making it beneficial for many degenerative diseases.Ginkgo Biloba -There are over 120 clinical studies published on Ginkgo Biloba. Ginkgo's antioxidant bioflavonoids inhibit your platelets from sticking together, allowing your blood to flow more freely and with less effort from your heart. It also is used for strengthening the walls of your capillaries, and protecting your brain. Ginkgo counteracts the effects of aging, including mental fatigue.CarnitineCarnitine is called an "essential" nutrient because of its many varied benefits shown in study after study. For example, in a controlled clinical trial conducted by Dr. Cipoli and Dr. Chiari, incarnadine was given to people suffering from mild cognitive impairment. Results demonstrated that they experienced significant improvement in just 45 days!Folic AcidResearch shows that people with the highest intake of folic acid were 21% less likely to suffer from serious brain problems. A Dutch study revealed that on memory tests, those who took folic acid had test scores comparable to people several years younger. All this is in addition to the ability of folic acid to prevent birth defects and to lower the rate of colon cancer by 71% when taken regularly as a supplement! The reason for this rather startling fact is that you often do not eat foods rich in folic acid while you are taking a supplement, you are usually quite faithful and regular. The amount used in the study was 400 mcg per day - Cardio-Care contains 1,000 mcg of folic acid.MagnesiumMagnesium is absolutely essential for the proper function of the entire cardiovascular system. It can improve energy production in the heart, dilate coronary arteries (improving oxygen delivery to the heart), and reduce blood pressure and cholesterol.Vitamin EIn a breakthrough study reported in the Archives of Neurology, Dr. Morris, a top researcher, discovered that vitamin E supplementation can slow the rate of mental decline by 36%. Now that is worth considering! The same researcher also published a study suggesting the vitamin E might lower the risk of developing serious mental illnesses by an astounding 70%. In a long-term study of 3,000 Japanese-American men over age 70, using both vitamin C and E "significantly" reduced the risk of dementia or mental breakdown.Vitamin CVitamin C can help prevent the oxidation of cholesterol. Plus, high blood levels of vitamin C are associated with lower total and LDL cholesterol, and higher levels of HDL. (Your brain has 15 times the amount of vitamin C in it as compared to other parts of your body.) In a UCLA study, subjects who reported daily consumption of at least 300 mg of vitamin C lived more than six years longer than those who did not take a vitamin C supplement.NiacinNiacin is a key ingredient. In niacin, we have a proven heart attack AND cholesterol lowering substance that has no harmful side effects. Some patients with high histamine in their body have a mild flush for a few minutes after taking niacin which then goes away. (Unfortunately there is no money in niacin for big drug companies, therefore they do not push doctors to use it. What an unfortunate fact that few doctors use any drugs or substances which are not “pushed” by drug companies.)
